Welcome to the Hotel Del Coronado

We had such a FUN trip!!!!! The only problem, I didn't take many pictures.

We got to San Diego Tuesday morning and the only thing that brought us back was wanting to see our "babies". I don't know if I ever mentioned in previous posts that Brandon earned this trip by being one of the top managers for 2007, so it was all paid for other than some meals and anything extra we felt like we needed.
Tuesday and Wednesday were the only day's that we had any sun or warmth and we spent those days sitting on the pier and by the pool just lounging in the sun. It was so nice!!! Tuesday night we went on a Dinner Cruise around the bay. They had the boat full of blackjack tables (and some others that we didn't know how to play) as we got on the boat, they gave each person $500 (pretend money of course) and the person with the most money at the end of the night won a gift card to the Hotel Del (which is so expensive that we really could have used it) but we didn't win. I guess we're not very good gamblers!
Wednesday we walked around Coronado. They have some really great boutiques and restaurants. That night there was a Clambake on the Beach. They had really yummy food and the best dessert! Strawberry Shortcake but instead of the shortcake they had biscuits!!! There was a fire that we sat around for the night. Such a fun night and I met a lot of people that B works with that I have been hearing about for a while now but had never met so it was nice to finally be able to put some faces to the names.
Thursday night Barnes had an awards dinner of filet mignon (yummy) and dancing. It was pretty fun but very mellow!! Not many dancers.

They offered each person one activity that was paid for by Barnes so on Friday we did a sailing regatta! It was so much fun but again was FREEEZING. We learned how to work the sails and Brandon did most of the captaining (is that a word) of the boat. We lost the regatta!!! That night we had free to do what we wanted so we went to dinner with some friends that B works with at an Irish Pub. It was great people watching!!!

I think Saturday night was the best of all. There was a 70's party that we all dressed up for. They took us in buses to the gaslamp district of San Diego where they had rented out a huge building with different rooms and each room had a different theme. Great 70's band, and a lot of crazy dancing!!!! The offered tonz of food from burgers,fries & shakes to prime rib and potatoes. Yum Yum!!!


Brandon caught the blow-up SAX that the band threw into the crowd so he had to go up on stage (with others) and pretend to play. It was SO funny!!! Watch the video below if you want to see it!

Now here's the crazy party of the night. As we were on the bus heading back to the Del, the bus driver stopped and said "there's a jumper"! There was a person on the top of the bridge that was going to jump off!!!!! We needed to take the bridge back to the hotel and the bus driver thought if we waited for 5-10 minutes we would be on our way well, we ended up having to take the long route and we still don't know what happened to the jumper! Seems like I am always at the wrong place at the wrong time, I have had more than my share of that kind of excitement.

It was so much fun to have 6 days to spend with just eachother!!!

Now back to the real world!!!!!
