Another WalMart moment

How many posts can i do in a day!!!!

Well, this happened a few days ago but i never had a chance to blog about it and then i forgot when i was blogging earlier today........anyway.......

Ali and i went to WalMart the other night and just as we walked in, standing in the checkout line was a mother with 2 little boys.  One in the cart and one standing next to the cart.  At the end of the aisle they were standing in there were little candles you know, the ones in the little glass jar with the lids that are kindof hard to get off.   Just as we walked past them, the little boy in the cart dropped one of the candles on the floor and instantly i could hear the fear in his voice and he started yelling "i'm sorry, i'm sorry, don't hit me, don't hit me"... by then we were on our way to the back of the store and i heard "ouch" and then the little boy started crying!!!
My poor Ali was traumatized!!!  The first thing she said was "why would a mother want to hit their child" next "why would a mother want to hurt their child".  The questions kept coming, "could that mother get killed"  my answer "propbably not but she could go to prision" we ended up talking about parents who aren't very nice to their kids, bad guys, why would a  policemen have to kill someone, why bad guys kill people, if grandpa Brent is safe when he has to go to the prision (he's the Bishop of the worst "bad guys" in the Utah state prision)...i really don't know how she came up with all these thoughts but this mother really had an affect(is it a or e) on her. It was a good way to teach her that she is lucky to live in a good home with good parents that love her no matter what and that even if she drops a candle we will still love her and we won't hurt her and even if we get angry, we will always love her!!! I think she understood but she felt really bad for those little boys. She even wondered what would happen to them if they got taken away from their mom because she was mean!!!

Wow, what a big thing for a 7 year old to have to think about!!! She came right home and told B about what happened but she hasn't said much about it since.
I hope my kids really do know how much they are loved and that even though we may get upset with them sometimes, we will never hurt them and they will always be safe with their parents.  I feel so bad for all the little children that don't have that comfort!!!!
