Today I am thankful for...

My Parents!

My mom! Everyone loves my mom. I am so thankful for her. She would drop anything she is doing to help me or any of my sisters, or any of our kids. In fact, she probably spends too much time worrying about all of us and not enough time worry about or caring about herself. She
loves to help people and would do anything for anyone. It was a great thing for all of us to see how she took care of Tom when he was sick and how much she loved him and did the best she could do for him. I really look up to her for being with him everyday and making sure he had the best care possible. And while he was in the nursing home she was not only taking care of Tom but all the other people there too. That is how my mom is, she is a natural care giver a I hope I can follow in her footsteps in that way.
She is so willing to help with kids, fly half-way across the country for a gymnastics meet or a baseball game. She goes to every event for every grand kid. I am so thankful that she is my mom and for all she had done for me through out my life. When I think back, there were a lot of times that i'm sure were so hard for her and we didn't even realize. She always tried so hard to make sure we were happy and never let us see if times were hard for her. I know I can count on my mom when ever I need her. I know I can always go to her with questions or for advice and even if she doesn't like things I choose to do in my life, I know that she will always love me. I know it must be so hard for my mom to have 7 daughters who are all different and to see the struggles each one has. I'm so thankful for her every day and even If I don't always show it, I truly don't know what I would do without her!!!!!

My Dad is great!! He has a great sense of humor. He always is up for doing something fun. He loves to be with the grand kids. He's so willing to babysit or host sleep overs which means he gets to entertain a bunch of (usually little girls) and have tea parties and make "shape" pancakes, play games and even dress ups!
But what I am most thankful for my about my dad is that I can count on hearing from him pretty much every day whether it is by phone, email or text message and he is always telling me how great I am. What a great mother and daughter I am. How proud of me he is etc. I am so thankful to my dad for seeing in me what I usually don't and for telling me everyday how great I am!

Jan! Jan (my step-mom) has been part of my life for most of my life and I am so thankful to have her in it. She is such a wonderful role model and hard worker. All the kids love Grandma Jan. I am so thankful that I have had her to go to when i've needed help or answers to questions we've had about our kids but I am especially grateful that she (and my dad) have been there to help us get Mitch through some hard times. She like my dad is always ready to have fun! Thanks for all the years of fun vacations, yummy dinners and for showing us how much you love our dad!
