Valentines

The last couple of years Ali has decided to make her valentines rather then buy them. This year she wanted to make bookmarks. She cut the rectangles with the cricut decorated each one and laminated them. Added a string to the top and a little candy to go with each one! They turned out really cute! She is so excited to give them out at school on Monday.

My question is this.... What happened to kids giving valentines to their friends in their neighborhood? What happened to putting the valentine on the doorstep, ringing the doorbell and running away before they caught. Am I the only one that remembers doing this as a kid? Why do our kids now day's only celebrate Valentines day at school when most of their neighborhood friends aren't even in their class?
